St Thomas' Church

The Tower

The church is entered by the south porch, which occupies the bottom stage of the 15th century tower. The tower comprises three stages, the centre stage containing the clock face. The upper stage, which is pierced by four windows, contains the bell chamber, which formerly housed three old bells, the oldest dating back to 1681. However in July 2008 a new peal of six bells was hung and dedicated, the older bells being still kept in the tower as tolling bells.
